SIMMS, William Francis, 80, of Union, KY, passed away on Monday December 6, 2021 at Cedar View Nursing Home. Born June 10, 1941 in Cincinnati, OH to Royden Edward Simms Sr. and Ruby (nee: Monjar) Simms, he was a proud US Marine Corp Veteran. William was an accomplished athlete, earning high school All-City accolades in both football and basketball. He also lettered in both sports at Morehead University. He went on to complete his degree at the of University of Cincinnati and earned his MBA from Xavier University. Active in his Catholic faith, he taught Sunday School and was a part time professor at Eastern Kentucky University. You would often catch William on a Saturday afternoon in the fall watching his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and University of Cincinnati athletic teams. What brought William the most happiness in life was spending time with his family, traveling around the world with his beloved wife, cracking "dad jokes" and occasionally enjoying an ice-cold Budweiser or dirty martini.

William is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carol Ann Simms, his brother, Edward Simms and his sisters, Jackie Brumfield and Carol Miller. He is survived by his daughter, Mindy Simms of Union, KY, Rodger (Nicole Warner) Simms of Atlanta, GA, and his granddaughter, Jordan Hoenscheid of Cincinnati.

There will be a funeral mass on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Fort Thomas, KY. A celebration of life will follow immediately after the mass at the Hofbrauhaus in Newport.
