Velma Jean (nee: Combs) Hunter, 86, of Kettering, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at her residence. She was born on May 18, 1938 to the late Woodford and Dona (nee: Henderson) Combs in Franklin, Indiana where she became a graduate of Franklin High School (IN). After moving to the Lebanon area, she served her community as a secretary for Lebanon City Schools then began her career as an Office Manager in the medical field, where she later retired. Velma had a strong, overwhelming and an unconditional love for her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Velma was at her happiest when she spent time with her family, became a grandma, and further a great-grandma. She was tenderly referred to as either nanny, granny, or GG by all that knew her which carried a special place in her heart. While earthside, she was the most generous and thoughtful person to her family, friends, and cherished all of those around her.
She is survived by her children; Peggy (Jesse) Stotts-Corbin, Mark (Pam) Stotts, and Mike Stotts; grandchildren, Jason (Jessica) Stolz, Nick (Brittany) Stotts, Alex (Mackenzie) Stotts, Sam (Trinity Swemba) Stotts, Cody (Casey) Stotts and Derek Stotts; great -grandchildren, Kayla Stolz, Skyler Stolz, Noelle Stotts, Macklynn Stotts, Emersyn Stotts, Adlee Stotts, and Graham Stotts; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Roy (Bud) Combs and sister Dora Laverne Sellars.
Visitation will be Monday, August 12, 2024, from 12:00 PM until 12:45 PM at the Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, 329 East Mulberry Street, Lebanon OH 45036 followed by a graveside service immediately following, at 1:00 PM, at the Lebanon Cemetery, Hunter Street, Lebanon OH 45036. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Parkinson's Foundation .
