Thomas Lee Lane, 81, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2025 surrounded by family at the Dayton VA Hospice. Born on August 21, 1944 to Walter and Marie (nee: Russo) Lane in Cincinnati, OH, Tom was a faithful and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
A Vietnam War veteran, Tom served his country with honor and courage as a member of the United States Air Force. After returning home, he went on to serve his community for 29 years as a dedicated Cincinnati firefighter, always putting others before himself. He lived a life of service.
Known for his unforgettable sense of humor, Tom was a true jokester who could light up any room. He had a deep love for fishing, a pastime he enjoyed throughout his life, and was famous among family and friends for his world-class breakfasts and homemade hot pretzels.
But above all, Tom was a devoted grandfather. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and service that will never be forgotten.
Preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Alan Lane, two sisters, Phyllis Marts and Laura Maher. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (nee: Dornacher) Lane, one son, Thomas Randall (Robyn) Lane of Lebanon, one daughter, Rebecca (Sean) Beckman of Lebanon, two brothers, Walter and Greg Lane, six grandchildren, Thomas Jacob Lane, Rachel Beckman, Luke Lane, Nate Beckman, Molly Lane and Ben Beckman and numerous other cherished nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Visitation, Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at the Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon, A mass of Christian burial will be on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales in Lebanon. Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Cincinnati Fire Museum or to Muscular Dystrophy Association .
