Shawn Phillip Mitchell Jr., 17, of Lebanon, Ohio passed away on May 29, 2023 in a car accident. He was born to Jennifer O'Leary and Shawn Mitchell Sr. on December 28, 2005 and came to live with Karen Kinney-Mathy and Jon Mathy in September of 2017. Shawn was to be a Senior at Warren County Career Center and Lebanon High School studying Exercise Science and wanted to join the Air Force after graduation. In school he participated in Jr. High Wrestling, The Pop Culture Club, High School Track and Field and JRROTC. He was employed at The Village Ice Cream Parlor. Shawn loved weightlifting, exercising, gaming, making Tik Toks, Music of all kinds, anime, scary movies, and had a smile that lit up any room. He had a passion for life and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Shawn is survived by his mother, Jennifer O'Leary of Cincinnati, OH, his parents Karen Kinney- Mathy and Jon Mathy of Lebanon, OH, His sister, Hailey Mitchell (Jake Amlung) of Cincinnati, OH, his brother Shane Kinney of Lebanon, OH, Grandparents George (Roger) and Janice Kinney of Franklin, OH, and Thomas and Sandy Mathy of Menominee, MI, Grandfather Les Mitchell of Cincinnati, OH, and a nephew Hayden Amlung of Cincinnati, OH along with a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends.

Shawn is preceded in death by his father, Shawn Mitchell Sr., His Grandparents Timothy and Gayla O'Leary and Grandmother Marcia Krusenklaus.

Visitation for Shawn will on June 8, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with the service immediately following at Noon and will take place at New Freedom Church at 840 Miller Road, Lebanon, OH 45036 with Pastor Joe Shutts officiating. A graveside service will follow at Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be directed to the New Freedom Youth Group, 840 Miller Road, Lebanon, OH 45036 or by visiting http://www.newfc.org.
