Roy Dallas
Jackson
Mar 16, 1943 — Oct 3, 2025
Oregonia
Roy Dallas Jackson, 82, of Oregonia, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, at Optimized Senior Living. Born on March 16, 1943, in Barbourville, Kentucky, to Clint and Martha Jackson, Roy lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and the values of service and integrity.
Roy worked as a machinist at GE for more than two decades, where he was known for his skill, reliability, and dedication. A proud U.S. Army Veteran, who loved his country.
Beyond his career and service, Roy was an accomplished horseman with a lifelong love of Tennessee Walkers. Admired in the equestrian community, he earned the affectionate title of "the last of the cowboys," a reflection of both his skill in the saddle and his rugged, authentic spirit.
Roy's greatest joy, however, was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, LaVerne Jackson; his sons Richard and Lloyd Jackson; and his step-sons Lynn and Darrell Sandlin. He will also be dearly remembered by his brother Ronnie Jackson; sisters Shirley Grubb, Peggy Overbay, and Marcella Barnes; as well as his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry his legacy forward.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clint and Martha; his brother Homer Jackson; and his sisters Sylvia Carter, Esther Jackson, and Ruth Tomey.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Roy's life during visitation on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon, followed by a funeral service at Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home in Lebanon, Ohio. Interment follows in Miami Cemetery in Corwin.
Roy will be remembered not only for his love of horses and the open range, but also for his steadfast devotion to his family and the values he instilled in those who knew him. His life was a true testament to strength, resilience, faith, and love.
