Ronald (Ron) Glenn Schiller will be greatly missed by Robin Michelle Schiller, his wife of 44 years and forever friend, who called him “RG” and the love of her life, and they look forward to their joyful reunion in heaven.

Ron and Robin were both baptized and accepted Christ at age 13. His legacy of faith extended far beyond personal salvation as he actively poured into others by leading youth groups and Bible studies.

Ron was the first in his family to graduate from college, earning his degree at The Ohio State University. He had a fulfilling career as a mainframe software engineer whose work was used in countless ways, including in Kroger barcode scanners and by the New York Times.

He was a modern-day Renaissance man with an encyclopedic mind. Ron was forever curious, always researching new subjects, especially related to science or astronomy. He was always teaching those around him – any question directed at him could easily become a detailed discussion on what a thing was or how it worked. A lifelong builder and learner, with a knack for diving into any project or topic that he set his mind to. His love of exploring and sharing knowledge is a seed that keeps growing in all of us who were touched by his life.

He is survived by his wife Robin; four sons Jack Schiller (Melanie Ziegler), Andrew Schiller (Kaia Gran), Benjamin Schiller (Megan McDonald), Caleb Schiller (Becca Guile); grandchildren Alexis, Connor, Jacob and Oliver; siblings Mary Reitz (John, deceased), Diane and Darley Caldwell (deceased), Raymond Schiller, and dear friend Don (Jody) and Hamlin family; brothers- and sisters-in-law Shirley and Tom Moyer (deceased), Sharon and Bill Brown (deceased), Larry Middaugh (deceased) and Beverly, Roger Middaugh (deceased) and Carol, and Denise Peterson. And his many nieces, nephews, family members, friends, and neighbors.

We want to thank Hospice of Cincinnati who helped Ron pass into eternity with peace and painlessness. We can only imagine he is strumming John Denver songs on his guitar with the angels right now.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Service to be held at a later date.
