HURTT, Ronald Anthony, 75, of Lebanon passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025 surrounded by his loving wife and two daughters after a valiant fight with lung cancer. Born November 22, 1949 in Dayton, OH to David and Freda (nee:Burke) Hurtt, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and he enjoyed spending time with his family. A graduate of Lebanon High School, class of 1968, Ron was a proud US Army Veteran who served in the Vietnam War serving for 2 tours of duty. Ron was a County Superintendent for ODOT and retired in 1996 after 30 years. He worked odd jobs until 2000 when he became Maintenance Director of Lebanon City Schools, where he worked for numerous years. He served on South Lebanon Fire Department for 2 years, was a Lebanon City Councilman for 4 years, Warren County Fair Board for several years, where he was also President of Fair Board for numerous years.
His favorite place was Hunting Island, South Carolina where he loved hunting for shells. He had many hobbies, which included hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, raising Labrador retrievers and feeding and watching the birds. He was also a member of the American Legion for 52 years. He was best known for his storytelling, supporting his grandkids interest, family reunions with everyone fishing in his pond.
Preceded in death by his parents, David and Freda Hurtt and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Roberta (nee:Wolfe), his children , Renee (Jeff) McCord, Randi (William) Michna, his brothers David Jr. (Barb) Hurtt, Larry (Debbie) Hurtt, Kevin (Tina) Hurtt, and 5 grandchildren Ethan, Riley, Brody, Violet, Elle and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and his 2 black labs, Bruiser and Bo.
A Graveside Service will be held at Lebanon Cemetery on Friday, August 22 at 10 am. Pastor Jeff Aylor officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Honor Flight CVG and/or Hospice of Cincinnati or American Lung Association. Arrangements by The Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home of Lebanon, OH.
