Obituary

Robert "Bob" Owen Dooley of Lebanon, OH formerly of Plainfield, IN passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Optimized Senior Living. Born on August 10, 1930 to Owen & Mary Emma (nee: Fullenwider) Dooley in Waveland, IN. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife Donna (nee: Simon) Dooley, one brother Jim Dooley and one grandson, Rob Dooley.

Bob is survived by his two sons Tim (Karen) Dooley of Bend, OR, Jonathan Dooley of Cedar Crest, NM, his daughter, Jennifer (Edson) Marbach of Lebanon, OH, four grandchildren Heather, Dan, Jared & Jesse and two great-grandchildren David & Delanie.

He was one of eighteen 1948 graduates from Greene Township High School in Parke Co, IN. Bob proudly served  in the US Air Force from 1949-1952 as a radio/radar technician on F-86 Sabre Jets. He was stationed at Larson AFB, Moses Lake, WA and a member of its 319th Fighter Interceptor Squadron. Bob took an interest in the newest form of communication, Television, and quickly learned its mechanics. In the mid 1950's on his first job with WTTV in Bloomington, IN, he worked the cameras but ended up in the engineering control room. Bob worked 40 years for CBS stations KXTV in Sacramento, CA & WISH in Indianapolis, IN, eventually retiring in 1998. Throughout Bob's life, he professed Jesus as his Lord & Savior, a follower of the risen Christ. He believed to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord, Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:8).

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2024 in Bethany Cemetery in Marshall, IN.
