KUHNS, Robert Lee, age 80, of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2026. He was born August 30, 1945, in Taneyville, Missouri, to Harold Calvin and Ruby Arlene (Coup) Kuhns. Robert proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and went on to work for Procter & Gamble for 35 years as a photo studio manager, retiring in 2004. He had a lifelong passion for photography and was an avid collector of antiques, finding joy in preserving both memories and pieces of the past. He never did meet a stranger and was a kind and generous man. He shared 43 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Barbara Jo (Dye) Kuhns.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara Jo Kuhns; and his brother, Ralph Kuhns.
Robert is survived by his sons, John (Krista) Kuhns of Lebanon, Ohio; and Matthew (Angeleque) Kuhns of Lake Oswego, Oregon; stepdaughters, Cynthia Ann (Patrick) Gee of Birmingham, Alabama; and Lisa Joy Pizzo of Las Vegas, Nevada; brothers, H. Edwin (Marty) Kuhns of Ludlow Falls, Ohio; and John (Jojit) Kuhns of Vandalia, Ohio; sisters, Marjorie Kuhns of Vandalia, Ohio; Ruby (Mike) Bonham of New Carlisle, Ohio; and Deborah (John) Rau of Grand Rapids, Michigan; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, including his great-granddaughter, Katelynn McBride who he and his wife, Barbara, helped raise; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, with a funeral service immediately following, all at Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home in Lebanon. Interment will follow at Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163-4777.
He will be fondly remembered for his strong will, his love of preserving the past, and the many memories he captured and shared with those he loved.
