Robert Luther Compton, 87, of Lebanon, passed away at his residence on Friday, October 20, 2023 with his family by his side. Born on November 4, 1935 to Donald and Mary (nee: Baugh) Compton in Wilmington, OH, Robert was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a mechanical engineer at Cincinnati Milacron where he worked for 46 years. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a competitive marksman. Robert was the national shooting champion for many years and a skilled carpenter. Robert made beautiful pieces for his loved ones to treasure in their own homes.

Preceded in death by his parents and one son, John Compton. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Patti Compton, one son, Thomas Compton, two step-sons, Jeff (Lorie) Orth and Jim (Robin) Orth, two daughters-in-law, Ann Compton and Krista Lewis, one sister, Donna Compton-Smear (John), 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, his niece, Lisa and his great-nieces and nephew.
