Robert "Bob" Bendel

Robert “Bob” Stewart Bendel, 89, of Lebanon, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 25, 2026 with his family by his side. Born on March 31, 1937 to Robert and Betty (nee: Steed) Bendel in Middletown, OH, Bob retired from Armco Steel after 38 years of service. He was an international engineering consultant for building steel mills and owned and trained harness race horses. He also enjoyed international travel with his wife, Priscilla. Together they visited 47 different countries.

Preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jim Bendel. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Priscilla (nee: Mullins) Bendel, his children, Robert S. Bendel of Lebanon, Carole Bendel (Dan) Shingledecker of Columbus and Aimee Rourke of Lebanon, one brother, Gerald Bendel, five grandchildren, Andrea Young, Melanie DiNunzio, Maria Shingledecker, Chelsea Rourke and Sawyer Rourke, seven great-grandchildren, Francis, Julian, Fallon, Tristan, Hudson, Alexa and Aria.

Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. Francis de Sales Church in Lebanon. Father Craig Best officiating. Inurnment will immediately follow in Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Francis de Sales. Arrangements made by the Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home.
