Phyllis “Moe” Leigh (nee: McHatton) Spence, 82, of Lebanon, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026 at her residence. Born on July 27, 1944 in Jacksonville, IL, Phyllis found joy in the simple things that made life meaningful. She and her beloved husband shared 62 wonderful years of marriage and treasured the many memories they made traveling the country together in their RV. She loved camping, caring for animals, and spending time sewing, quilting, painting, and tending to her garden. A woman of strong faith, she was of the Baptist faith and taught Sunday school at First Baptist Church of South Lebanon. She also enjoyed buying and selling items on eBay, but above all, her greatest joy was her beloved grandchildren, who were the center of her life.

Preceded in death by her parents, Pauline (nee: Klinghammer) Turner, her step-father, William Edward Turner, one sister, Connie Loomis and her step-brother, Roland Turner.

She is survived by her husband, Leland Spence, one daughter, Sandy Wood of Mason, one son, Paul (Trena) Spence of Morrow, five grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristin (Jeff), Nicole (Adam), Joey (Serra) and Kelly, three great-grandchildren, Arabella, William and Bennett and her two cats, Jack and Jill.

Visitation, Friday, August 7, 2026 from 11:00 PM-12:00 PM with a funeral immediately following at 12:00 PM., all at the Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Deerfield Cemetery.
