Obituary

Pauline Chestnut (nee: Sampson) Holloway, 100, of South Lebanon, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025. Born on October 5, 1925 to Robert and Sallie B (nee: Chestnut) Sampson, Sr. in Manchester, KY. Pauline was an active member of the First Church of God in South Lebanon, where she found much joy in her faith and fellowship. She retired from the South Lebanon Post Office where she was a mail carrier and clerk for 26 years. Pauline's dedication to her community was truly unmatched. She served on the Village Council and played an instrumental role in founding and running the King's Food Pantry for several years, touching countless lives through her generosity and service.

Outside of her community work, Pauline had a love for music, playing the mandolin with great joy. She was also an avid fan of yard sales, word searches, and spending time with family and friends. Her kindness, generosity, and deep sense of community will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

Preceded In death by her parents, her husband, Leslie Holloway, two sons, Wendell and Glenn Holloway, two brothers, Lynn McQueen and Robert P. Sampson, Jr., five sisters, Eileen Lester, Katie Sallee, Ann Baugh, Dorothy Lawson and Elaine Clark.

She is survived by her son, Howard (Patricia) Holloway of Middletown, two daughters-in-law, Veda Holloway and Becky Holloway, one brother William McQueen, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation, Friday, November 7, 2025 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM with a service immediately following at 12:00 PM, all at the First Church of God in South Lebanon. Interment will follow in Deerfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kings Local Food Pantry , PO Box 122, South Lebanon, OH 45065.
