South Lebanon

Obituary

Myra Lee Broxertman (née: Gross), age 70, passed away on March 12, 2025.

She spent her later years residing in South Lebanon, Ohio, near her sisters, nieces, nephew, and their many kids, who showed her tremendous love, grace, and support.

For many years, she was an active and vibrant "West-Sider." She had many friends and cozy neighbors, spent summers at Phillips Swim Club, loved the mock turtle soup at Ron's Roost, and Jazzercised twice a week with her daughter at Dunham CRC.

During those years, Myra had many interests and talents. She loved gardening at her Westwood house, where she was partial to peonies and had a kitchen window full of purple-petaled African Violets. She passed down the art of sewing to her daughter, along with the invaluable lesson that it's perfectly fine to skip the interfacing. She also passed along her love of music and the joy of dancing to records in the living room.

She had a knack for thoughtful gestures, especially when it came to gift-giving. In her later years, she loved giving special treats like candy and nail polish to her great-nieces (whom she loved to pieces).

Myra was born to Frank and Wilda Jean (née Maloney) on April 16, 1954, in Wilmington, Ohio. She graduated from Kings Mills High School in 1972. She worked as the secretary at South Lebanon Elementary before pursuing night school at the College of Mount St. Joseph and joining the first wave of women in corporate jobs in the '80s. She spent most of her career as a master scheduler at General Electric, and she could tell you anything you wanted to know (and probably more) about jet engines.

Myra was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Frank Gross. She is survived by her sisters, Fran (Larry) Sargeant and Ann Herald, and her daughter, Amy Hamilton.

At her request, there will be no formal funeral. Memorial donations may be made to Butler/Warren County Toys for Tots.
