Mary Sandel (nee: Roth), born on August 25, 1937, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024, at Otterbein Home in Lebanon, Ohio. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, friend and coworker. Her life was marked by her quiet generosity and unwavering commitment to helping others. She was a pillar of strength and compassion, always ready to lend a hand to those in need.  Even while in the hospital, she wanted to share her food.
Throughout her life, Mary was deeply involved in her faith community. She held leadership positions and actively volunteered at Philippus United Church of Christ (Cincinnati), Genntown United Church of Christ (Lebanon), and most recently Bethany United Church of Christ (Lebanon). Her dedication to her church communities was a testament to her strong faith and her desire to positively impact the lives of others.
Mary was the epitome of perseverance.  She persevered through every life challenge that came her way and chose acceptance over complaining.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary (nee: Kanet) Roth, her sister, Shirley Roth, and her brother, William Roth. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Kenneth Sandel; daughter, Nancy Slezak; son, Ken (Tammy) Sandel; grandchildren, Stephen and Jenn Slezak, and Aaron and Austin Sandel; sister, Carol Roth; brother, Robert (Tina) Roth; as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Mary's legacy of kindness, service, and love will be cherished by all who knew her. She leaves behind a family and community who will miss her dearly but will forever be inspired by her example.

Per Mary's request, there will be no visitation or memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bethany United Church of Christ, 1026 S. St. Rt 123, Lebanon, OH 45036, in her memory.
