HANNAHAN, Mary Joan, 95, formerly of Springfield, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, in Bayley Place Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born June 5, 1931, in Springfield, the daughter of the late Raphael Sr. and Nora Gallagher. Joan was a past member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, before moving to Memphis, Tennessee in 1977. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was an inspiration as well as guiding mentor to her family. She was loved by all and will be sorely missed.

Survivors include her three daughters and three sons, Nora (Robert) Tabor of Beavercreek, OH, Mary Eileen Hannahan of Ashland, KY, Monica (Joseph) Faquin of Memphis, TN, Timothy (Andrea) Hannahan of Maineville, OH, David Hannahan of Syracuse, NY, Steven (Debbie) Hannahan of Memphis, TN; Eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 2012, Son Christopher in 2023, sisters Rita and Ann, and brother Raphael Jr. Mrs. Hannahan graduated from Catholic Central High School, in 1949. On May 9, 1953, she married John Hannahan at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN, or a charity of the donor’s choice. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 21 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard Church, and burial at Calvary Cemetery in Springfield Ohio following Mass. In lieu of visitation, there will be a chance to gather at 10:00 a.m. before Mass at Metzdorf Hall next to the Church.
