Obituary

Mark Bogen, 75, of Lebanon, OH, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at his residence.  Born on July 23, 1948 to Richard and Margaret (nee: Doyle) Bogen in Cincinnati, OH, he grew up in Finneytown, OH, and graduated from Finneytown High School.  He then earned his undergraduate degree from Wittenberg University and moved on to secure his Juris Doctorate at the University of Cincinnati College of Law.  He was an avid angler, hunter, and golfer, and enjoyed regular attendance at the Countryside YMCA.  Mark was an attorney for many years and spent 22 years as a Municipal Judge.  Prior to becoming Judge, he was elected as a member of the Lebanon City Council from 1981-1985, served as Vice-Mayor from 1981-1983 and served as Mayor of Lebanon from 1984-1985. He also served as a president of the Warren County Bar Association and was a member of the Ohio Trial Lawyers Association. Mark was involved in his community as a member of the American Legion, Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Lebanon Elks, the VFW and the Lebanon F and A M Lodge 26.  He was involved in the United States Trotters Association and had a passion for horses.  He was also a member of the Heritage Presbyterian Church where he served on the board of directors.

Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife, Kellie (nee: Smith) Bogen, son, Scott Bogen of Berlin Heights, OH, daughter, Kimberly (Craig) Russell of Terrace Park, OH, and grandchildren, Poppy Russell and Alfie Russell.

Visitation, Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 5PM-9PM, with a service following the next day on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 11AM, all at the Heritage Presbyterian Church.  Reverend Kevin Stainton will officiate.  Following the service, interment will take place in Vine Street Hill Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Hob Camp Nature Center, 1815 State Route 123, Lebanon, OH 45036.  Arrangements by the Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon.
