Obituary

NIXON, Louise Emerson, 95, of Lebanon OH and long-time resident of Campbellsville KY, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at her home at Otterbein Lebanon.  Born November 9, 1928 in Franklin PA to William J. and Fairy (nee: Morris) Emerson, she was a dedicated wife and mother.  Louise was a prolific writer and DIYer.  She combined both for a long-running column "Can Do!" in Today's Family magazine, which involved DIY projects for families to take part in together.  Louise was also a columnist for Highlights for Children and Music Journal and a writer of short stories for various publications.  She could be found making furniture and pottery, oil painting, baking treats and knitting sweaters for loved ones.  She and her husband traveled the world and were active in their Episcopal Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and performed in the choir for many years.  She was also a skilled bookbinder (taught by her father), pianist and organist.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William B. Nixon, her brothers, Blaine and Roy Emerson, and her sister Ritha Smith.  She is survived by her daughters Ann Louise (Bob) DiBenedetto of Naples FL and Brenda Kathleen Nixon of Largo FL, her sons W. Brent (Sue) Nixon of Las Vegas NV and J. Brad (Cindy) Nixon of Indian Hill OH, and her one grandson, W. Joshua Nixon.

Services to be held at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements by the Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon.
