Obituary

KOLLMAN, Lauren Michele Stell, 76, of Lebanon, passed away at her home on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Lauren was born December 1, 1948 in Pittsburgh, PA, to Lawrence and Lois (née: Catterall) Stell. She was a graduate of the Ohio State University.

Lauren was a lifelong educator in health and fitness before transitioning into customer service, retiring in 2015. She taught at St. Albert the Great in Dayton, did charity work and non-profit administration, designed and led fitness classes, and served as a teacher trainer in the wellness industry. She later worked in fashion retail, utilizing her creative skills. The central theme of her career was always wanting to help people.

She was an avid gardener and bird watcher, a dedicated sports fan, a wonderful cook, a music and film lover, and always ready to travel with family and friends. She was devoted to her family and in particular, her grandchildren. She took an active interest in whatever activity her grandchildren were participating in and was there to support every game, tournament, and concert.

Lauren met her childhood sweetheart, Bill, in Twinsburg, OH, where they later attended R.B. Chamberlin High School together. They married in 1971 and remained so until his passing in 2015.

Lauren was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Kollman; and her sister, Sharon Danforth. She is survived by her two sons, Thomas (Kathleen) Kollman of Dayton and Lawrence (Courtney) Kollman of Lebanon; her daughter, Julie (Douglas) Effler of Trenton; and her five grandchildren, Amanda Effler, Benjamin Effler, Henry Kollman, Harlow Kollman, and Hattie Kollman. She also had several precious nieces and nephews, as well as many close friends going back to her high school and college days.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 4-6 PM with a Celebration of Life Service immediately following at 6 PM, all at the Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home in Lebanon. Memorial donations are requested to the Alpha Gamma Golden Theta Scholarship from the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation.
