He enjoyed playing bad golf at Greencrest in the G.W. unofficial amateur league with Sam Proffit, Rich Mowery, Kent Hilbrands, and Derek Miller. He also played bad golf at other courses and other players too  numerous to name and enjoyed every single hole.  He also officiated many college and high school baseball games in Mason, OH and loved to stump people with his knowledge of the rules of the game.  Larry loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and was a big fan of the Cincinnati Reds.

Larry worked in auto sales at Bill DeLord in Lebanon with Tom Kohls and Bryan Hoying for 8 years. He then went to work for the Joseph Family at Joseph Toyota of Cincinnati on Colerain Avenue for 17 years. He made many great friends and loved selling cars. Larry's father "Shorty" taught him many practical household tips and tricks, as only a father can. Larry passed on this knowledge to Grant and enjoyed every single moment, especially constructing the back steps in "hotter than the sun" temperatures. He enjoyed passing on his landscaping knowledge as well.

Special thanks and remembrance for the entire staff at UC Blood Cancer Healing Center for their care and compassion. In particular Dr. Eric Vick, Jenny Turchina, patient registration DeeDee, and infusion nurses Wendy, Britni, and Fonesha. Again, the entire staff made such a difference in a challenging time and Larry was able to make some good memories in spite of his illness.
