Larry David Bone, age 72, passed away on June 5, 2022 from complications arising from his two year battle with ALS. He is survived by his wife Hope I. Bone and son Rollin S. Bone, his mother LuLu Bone, sister Diana Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Larry is preceded in death by his father Charles M. Bone.
Upon graduation from Miami University he joined Arthur Andersen international accounting firm as a tax accountant in their Cincinnati office. He then moved to Chicago where he served as director of taxation and later director of corporate finance for Ward Foods, Inc. a fortune 200 company.
Larry fell in love with Lebanon, Ohio while doing a marketing research project his junior year at Miami University. In 1973, when Wards Foods, Inc. chose to move their corporate office to New York, Larry chose to move back to his home state and the town he loved and began a career as a tax professional in the Lebanon area for which he served over 45 years.
Larry had many hobbies but singing and travel were his two favorite pastimes. He sang in the Lebanon Presbyterian Church and later the Lebanon United Methodist Church choir for over 20 years and also sang in several men's groups. But travel was his passion which took him around the world, hiking, skiing, biking and enjoying the art, architecture and food of over twenty five countries. He even tackled the Grouse Grind in Vancouver, Canada. But, Wengen-Switzerland and Normandy-France were his favorites.
For seven years Larry served as a volunteer coach for the Lebanon High School boys volleyball program gaining titles of state final four, state runner up and back to back state championships.
He lived a life serving others and his community always with a broad smile and open heart. Carpe Diem was his motto.
A celebration of life will be held at Tony's of Cincinnati, 12110 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio (¼ mile south of Meier's at the Fields Ertle exit off I71) on Sunday June 26, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
