PROFITT, Karen Sue (nee: Freeman), 74 of Mason, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Bethesda North Hospital. Born March 4, 1949 in Dayton, OH to John and Becky (nee: Jones) Freeman, she was retired from the Orange County Public Schools in Florida where she had been an Elementary School Office Administrator for 18 years before her retirement in 2015. She had been a past recipient of the Support Person of the Year for the school in 2010.  An avid quilter and seamstress, she also enjoyed gardening. She was also the Vice President of Celebrate Children of Orlando which helped place orphaned children with adoptive homes.

Preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Gale Freeman, she is survived by her husband of 24 years, Donald Profitt of Mason, her sons, Chad McDermott of Cincinnati, Matthew (Shelly) McDermott of Cincinnati and John Ramses Profitt of Orlando, Fl, her daughters, Shellie (McDermott) Blackett (Joseph) of Cincinnati and Diribe Profitt of Cincinnati, her sister, Jeanne Bernier of Troy, OH, her brother, Stan Freeman of Aurora, MN and her grandchild, Ethan McDermott.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 4-5 PM with a Celebration of Life to follow at 5 PM at the Oswald Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon. Memorial donations are requested to the Otterbein Lebanon Benevolent Care Fund.
