Obituary

DEVANNEY, Karen Anne (nee: Smith), 77, of Loveland, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Bethesda North Hospital. Born October 21, 1946 in Washington, DC to Jack M. and Wanda C. (nee: Chisholm) Smith. A graduate of Central Dauphin East High School in Harrisburg, PA, she attended the University of Cincinnati and graduated in 1968 with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She was a long-time nurse for Shriners Burn Hospital, Christ Hospital, UC Hospital, and the Hoxworth Blood Center. An avid gardener and arborist, she enjoyed scuba diving and also considered herself a "cat person." She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Michael Thomas Devanney, one son, Lt. Col Brian (Wendy) Devanney, one daughter, Anne (Tom) Stall, a brother, Jack (Mary) Smith II, and two grandchildren, Trinity Devanney and Connor Devanney.
