Obituary

THOMAS, John Wayne "Kip", 67, of Clarksville, OH died Thursday, March 25, 2021 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. Born February 1, 1954 in Ashland, KY to Daniel C. and Rae Jean (nee: Evans) Thomas, he was a 1972 graduate of Little Miami High School. John lettered in four sports, Track, Baseball, Basketball and Football and was the Quarterback for his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. After graduating, John proudly served his country in the US Army. A member of the American Legion in Waynesville and the St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Wilmington, John was an avid Reds, Bengals and Ohio State fan. He also worked on the "Chain Gang" at Little Miami football games for many years. John retired from the Ernst Concrete company in 2002 due to a medical condition. The family would like to thank Jeff Oeder for his unselfish gift of a kidney and also, the Veterans Administration for all their help after John lost his eyesight. Their contributions contributed greatly to his quality of life. John is survived by his wife of 48 years, Peggy (nee: Lucas) Thomas, his son, Brian Thomas of Clinton County, OH, his daughter, Tonia Lawson of Vass, NC, his sister, Lori Jones of Morrow, OH, his grandchildren, Rhiannon Thomas, Liam Lawson, and Mae Lawson and his dog, Cinnamon. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 1-2 PM with a funeral service immediately following, all at the Vale Hoskins Funeral Home, Morrow. Pastor Dwayne Young will officiate. Memorial donations are requested to any local Veteran's Group in your area.
