Jeannette (nee: Prater) Smith, 55, of Lebanon, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. Born March 6, 1967 in Columbus, OH to Rodney Prater and Donna (nee: Israel) Prater, she was a 1985 graduate of Lebanon High School. Jeannette worked for the Honeywell Corp for many years before her passing.

She is survived by her parents, her three daughters, Kaileigh (Brandon) Cera of Santa Fe, NM, Selby (Andrew) Miller of Lebanon and Camryn Smith of Lebanon, two sisters, Susie (David) Sanford of Germantown, OH and Robyn Prater of Lebanon, and five grandchildren, Dawson, Wade and Travis Miller and Luke and Henry Cera.

Jeannette was known not only as a beloved mother and grandmother but also as momma "j" to many. She showed her love through crocheting blankets, baking goodies, sharing a drink, and being everyone's biggest fan on the soccer sidelines. She herself was a tremendous athlete through her years and was never scared to stand up for what she believed in. She enjoyed the simple things in life such as a good scary movie, tanning in the sun, Janis Joplin, and a cold beer watching OSU and Bengals football! Above all, her proudest accomplishment was being an amazing mother to three beautiful girls and a grandmother to five grandsons who will remember the love their mamaw showered them with on this earth.

Jeannette was taken much too soon and will be missed beyond measure by her family and friends. Her family will honor her and her unwavering positive zest for life by living our lives to their fullest.

Visitation, Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 5-7 PM at the Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon. A private graveside service will be held at the Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville.
