Obituary

James Minot Elliott, 92, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 23, 1933 to James and Marie (nee: Ditmeyer) Elliott in Middletown, OH. A lifelong resident of Lebanon, James was deeply rooted in the community he cherished. He attended St. Francis de Sales and carried those values with him throughout his life.

James and his beloved wife, Audrey, were well-known in town for the many businesses they built together over the years, including The Dairy Treat, Grandma's Pie Shop, Audrey's Art Studio, Hilltop Groom Shop, and Alexander's Kennels. Their hard work and dedication touched countless lives and became part of Lebanon's story.

James was active in the St. Vincent de Paul Society and served as a Big Brother in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. He was also an avid golfer and a proud member of the first golf team at Lebanon High School.

He found joy in simple pleasures—fishing, spending time at Lake Cumberland, and listening to Don Williams. He loved square dancing, cheering on horse races, and most of all, being with his family.

James will be remembered for his generous spirit, his steady presence, and the love he shared so freely with those around him. His legacy lives on in his family, his community, and the many lives he touched.

Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Calvin Arnold and David Elliott and one sister, Jeanette O'Harold. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Audrey (nee: Alexander) Elliott, two daughters, Julianne Marie (Robert) Kanthak of Lebanon, Janette Louise (John) Heberling of Lebanon, one son, John Mark (Melanie) Elliott of Vandaila, OH, one sister, Nancy Augsburger, one brother, Steve Elliott, six grandchildren, Christopher James (Kay) Salomon, Alexa Jade (Mike) Brown, Lindsey Ann (Stephen) Benson, Madison Zuleen (Shawn) Suarez, Braydie Lee (Bryan Cozean) Elliott, Jamie Marie (Jason) Schoch, seven great-grandchildren, Mason James Salomon, Elliott Mae Brown, Xander Michael Brown, Aiden Hiroki Schoch, Dean Tomohiro Schoch, Owen Ronald Benson and Marnie Jean Brown.
