James Burtt Ashby, Jr., 80, of Lebanon, passed away on Wednesday, July, 9, 2025 at UC Hospital in Cincinnati. Born on March 2, 1945 to James B. Ashby, Sr. and Crystel (nee: Holton) in Dayton, OH, Jim was a US Army veteran, and a longtime member of the West Side Church of Christ. He enjoyed collecting coins, watching Westerns, going to breakfast with his men's group, and watching his granddaughter play sports.

Preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Ashby, he is survived by his loving wife, Melodee (nee: Dole) Ashby, two daughters, Julie (Alan) Mann of Amarillo, TX and Rebecca Ashby of Lebanon, OH, one brother, Jon (Carol) Ashby, one sister, Mary Ann (Gary) Willis, one grandchild, Lily Sloan and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday,  September 6th, 2025 at 11am, Westside Church of Christ. Meal to follow. In lieu of flowers,  please make donations to the Westside Church of Christ Benevolence Fund.
