Obituary

OTTO, Howard Rudolph JR, 93, of Miamisburg and formerly of Waynesville, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Hospice of Dayton. Born May 11, 1929 in Kettering, OH to Howard and Loretta (nee:Hodapp) Otto, he was a US Army veteran. Howard was a graduate of Chaminade High School, and later the University of Dayton.  He was an engineer for several companies, and retired from PAPCO/Rothenburg Tools in 1984. After he discovered retirement did not suit him, he became a cook and chef at LaComedia Dinner Theater for many years. A member of the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church for 40 years, he enjoyed square dancing, and was an avid hunter and gardener.

Preceded in death by his parents, one son, Clint Otto and a sister, Juanita Jacob, he is survived by four sons, Gus (Heather) of Ottawa, ONT, Michelle Otto-Koenig (widow of Clint) of Maineville, OH,  Hans (Erica) Otto of Crescent Springs , KY, Nik (Becky) Otto of Clarksville, OH and Joe (Le) Otto of Madeira, OH, one sister, Johnni Schmidt, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Howard will be remembered during a Catholic Funeral Mass on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 11 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Father Craig Best presiding. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Dayton.
