GIMBEL, Gilbert John, (Gil) 91, of Maineville and formerly of Webster, NY passed away on Wednesday November 25, 2020 at the Hospice of Cincinnati. Born to Herman and Hazel (nee: Herring) Gimbel in Brooklyn, NY. He worked in education and also at Xerox until his retirement in 1981.  He was a member of his local men's club in his community and enjoyed playing cards. He was an avid gardener and loved his roses. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge and passion of flowers with others and giving them part of his plants to grow and enjoy. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and kids. Gil was a faithful parishioner of Holy Trinity Church in Webster, New York and St. Philip the Apostle in Morrow.

Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Margaret Gimbel, his son, Timothy Gimbel, his daughter, Anne Gimbel and his brother, John Gimbel.

Gilbert is survived by his son, Christopher (Patricia) Gimbel of Maineville, OH, his daughters, Maureen (Michael) McCarthy of South Lebanon, OH, Meg Conboy of Malibu, California, Terese (William) Farley of Rochester, NY, daughter in law, Patricia Gimbel of Rochester, NY,  twelve grandchildren, Alexandra, Andrew, Erin, Allison, Ryan, Grant, Emily, Olivia, Tyler, Tessa, Molly and Declan, one great-grandchild, Maeve.

A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, December 10th at 12:00 noon at St. Philip the Apostle Church in Morrow. Father Robert J. Farrell will officiate. Covid-19 precautions will be followed. Inurnment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Webster, NY next to his beloved wife, Margaret.  Arrangements made by Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon.
