Obituary

The Rev. George S. Brown, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and family member, died
Friday, October 30, 2020, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born on
July 21, 1934, George was ordained in the United Methodist Church in 1957, served Somerset,
Maize Manor, Belmont, Lancaster First, and the Westwood congregations, and as a District
Superintendent and Dean of the Cabinet for the West Ohio Conference. In retirement, George
continued to serve the Lord and the church through preaching, teaching, offering pastoral care,
and various positions of volunteer leadership. George was married to his high school
sweetheart, Carole R. Brown, for 64 years. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University and
was an avid Buckeye fan, and cheered for his beloved Cincinnati Reds all of his life. He is
survived by his wife, Carole, twin sons, Larry Brown (Kelly) and Phil Brown (Kathy), and
daughter, Julie Albright (Mark), 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services to celebrate George's life will be for family only at this time. Gifts given in George's
memory may be sent to Otterbein Lebanon United Methodist Church or Otterbein Lebanon
SeniorLife Community, both with the address, 585 N. St. Rt 741, Lebanon, OH, 45036.
