Garry Hagins Howard, affectionately known to many as “Stiff,” passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He was born on February 4, 1954, in Lebanon, Ohio, to Byrdie Fugate Howard and Stanley Howard

Garry was preceded in death by his siblings Susan, Charles, and Pat, whose memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Phyllis “Pill” Howard, who stood faithfully by his side through every joy and challenge. Garry was a proud and loving father to his son, Nick (Jenny) Howard, and a cherished grandfather to his grandson, Trevor Howard, who brought him immeasurable happiness.

Garry is also survived by his brothers Theodore, Standley, and Bill, who will forever hold dear the bond they shared.

His family circle extended even further through his step‑grandchildren, Heather (Mike) and Anthony (Brittany), and his five great‑grandchildren—Noah, Cayle, Anthony Jr., Avery, and Anniston—each of whom held a special place in his heart.

Garry will be remembered for his humor, his unwavering loyalty, and the deep love he had for his family. His presence will be profoundly missed, yet his legacy endures in the many lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind.

Visitation, Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 11:00 am -12:00 pm with a funeral service immediately following at 12:00 pm, all at the Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
