Edward Hobson Meeler, Jr, "Hop" passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Hop was greeted in heaven by his loving wife, Mary Virginia Bass "Genny" and his parents, Edward Hobson Meeler, Sr. and Dorothy King Meeler. He is survived by his sister, Karen Meeler Rice, his daughters, Amy Meeler Holloway and Ashley Meeler Stathatos and his grandchildren, Ben, Elizabeth, Parker, Trevor and Emma.

Hop was born and raised in South Boston, VA where he was a graduate of Halifax County High School. He then graduated from Virginia Tech and remained a proud "Hokie" throughout his life. Hop enjoyed a successful career working for a number of companies as an engineer and senior executive. His professional success brought him much pride and many blessings to his family. In his retirement Hop enjoyed his passions for golf and friendship at the Dunes Country Club in Myrtle Beach, SC. Hop was also a Deacon and faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Myrtle Beach.

Hop was loved dearly and will be missed by many. Private services will be held at a later date.
