Obituary

HARPER, Edward A., 86, of Pleasant Plain, OH passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at Bethesda North Hospital. Born October 9, 1938 at the family farm in Pleasant Plain to Albert and Mildred Jane (nee: Wilson) Harper. Ed graduated from Blanchester High School in 1957. He was an aviation enthusiast and worked for 17 years at the Warren County Airport as a pilot and flight instructor. He then worked for another 17 years at ABX in Wilmington as an airplane mechanic before his retirement in 2003. A longtime member of the Butlerville United Methodist Church, he was also active in the Butlerville Masonic Lodge and AOPA.


Preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John W. Harper. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Jane (nee: Johnson) Harper, his three sons, Edward Kent Harper, David Jay (Robert Burns) Harper and John Todd Harper, his daughter, Susan Jane (Johnny) Hughes, his grandchildren, Jonathon Harper, Stephen Harper, James Harper, Christopher Harper, Matthew Harper, Megan Hillard, and Thomas Hughes, and his great grandchildren, Spencer Hillard, Brantley Hughes, Braxton Hughes, and Briar Hughes.


Visitation, Monday, May 5, 2025 from 10 Am until 12 Noon with funeral service immediately following, all at the Vale-Hoskins Funeral Home in Morrow. Interment follows in Edwardsville Cemetery.
