ISON, Douglas Allen, 69, of Blanchester, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Pine Ridge Nursing Home, in Morrow, Ohio. He was born on February 29, 1952 to Ermel and Rebecca Jane (nee: Hall) Ison in Hazard, KY.  He was a graduate of Little Miami High School and received degrees from Miami University and LaRoche College. Doug worked as an insurance salesman for many years. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of Phi Beta Kappa and of the Northern New Home Old Regular Baptist Church. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and camping in his younger years. His wit, laughter, and wonderful stories will be missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Angela Howard, two daughters Rebecca McCarren (Lee) of Blanchester, Kathryn Smith of South Lebanon, and son, James Ison of Middletown, two sisters, Linda Ledbetter (Dan) and Carla Ison, three grandchildren, Jadacie Ison, Maya Ison, and Victoria Smith, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation, Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at the Vale-Hoskins Funeral Home, Morrow. A service will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM, also at the funeral home.
