GOTTESMAN, Dorothy "Jean" (nee: Chrisman), 81, of Pleasant Plain, OH passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Bethesda North Hospital. Born on May 7, 1940 to Ralph Franklin and Mary Lillian (nee: Norman) Chrisman, Sr., in Dayton, OH, Jean attended Lebanon High School and was a talented seamstress. She was married to Charles W. Howard for 42 years before his death in 2000. They had two daughters, Tammy and Brenda. Jean enjoyed gardening and traveling with her second husband, Neal whom she married in 2003. Some of her favorite trips were to the Badlands, South Dakota and to Oregon. She was an active member of the Salem Township Writing Circle and an author.

Preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ralph F. Chrisman, Jr., she is survived by her husband, Deneal Gottesman, two loving daughters, Tammy Lynn (Jerry) Spurling in Homosassa, FL, Brenda Sue (Thomas) Doddridge of Punta Gorda, FL, two brothers, Jack (Yvonne) Chrisman and Larry Eugene (JoAnne) Chrisman, two grandchildren, Rachel (nee: Spurling) (Eric) Lawshe and Christopher Spurling, one great- grandson, Jameson Lawshe and many nieces and nephews, including Jason Chrisman, with whom she was the closest.

Visitation, Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM with a service beginning at 12:00 PM all at the Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon. Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery.
