Doris Virginia (nee: Francis) English, 88, of Franklin, IN, formerly of Morrow, OH, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Morning Pointe Senior Living. Born on January 6, 1935 to Charles and Ollie (nee: Burkhart) Francis in Draper, NC, Doris graduated from Butler High School in Vandalia, OH in 1953 and from the Dayton Secretarial School in Dayton, OH in 1955. She was a homemaker, secretary and co-owner of a small business. She retired from Ryerson Steel Company where she worked in accounts receivable. Doris was a lifelong Baptist and she played the baritone saxophone in a community band as well as in her church orchestra for years. She enjoyed Bible study, home improvement projects, mixed media artwork and spending time with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas English, her sister, Lorene Edwards and one daughter-in-law, Donna English.

She is survived by her children, Cynthia (John) Dozier, Michael English, Eric (Carol) English, grandchildren, Kimberley Perez, Bobbie (Nick) Harmeling, Evan English, great-grandchildren , Izabella Harmeling, Autumn Harmeling and Emma Harmeling and many other extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will take place in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by the Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home.
