Donn Darrell Bunce, 70, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 21, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born on August 11, 1954, in Dayton, OH, to William and Marjorie (née Bogan) Bunce, Donn grew up with a passion for athletics, excelling in baseball and basketball during his youth.
Donn's life was deeply rooted in the Lebanon community, where he was a lifelong resident and made a lasting impact as a dedicated educator and coach. Over the years, he guided countless students both in the classroom and on the field, coaching football and track, scorekeeping for basketball, and serving as the sports faculty manager. His love for sports and his commitment to nurturing young talent left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Donn had an unwavering dedication to his kids and family, showing up for events big and small, from high school plays to Columbus Crew games. His love for his dogs also knew no bounds. Known for his humor, warmth, infectious smile, and genuine dedication to those around him, he will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Donn was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marjorie Bunce, and his brother, Jack Bunce. He is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa (née Garofalo) Bunce; his children, Tony (Andrea) Bunce of Lebanon, Todd Bunce of Columbus, and Brooke Bunce of New York City; his brothers, Bill (Marcia) Bunce and Kimn (Beth) Bunce; his cherished granddaughter, Jane Bunce; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM.
