Donald Ray "Don" Wahl, 82, peacefully entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on July 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. In his final moments, as his beloved wife, Tena, shared the story of how they first met, Don smiled gently and went home to Heaven. It was a beautiful ending to a life marked by unwavering faith, devoted service, and unconditional love.
Born on January 24, 1944, Don proudly served his country in the United States Navy during both the Vietnam War and the Cuban Missile Crisis aboard the USS Wasp. He carried the values of honor, integrity, and selfless service with him throughout his life.
In 1980, Don accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, beginning a lifelong commitment to sharing the Gospel. God later called him into ministry, and in 1996, Don became the pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Blanchester, Ohio, where he faithfully served for 25 years. Through his preaching, compassion, and steadfast faith, he led countless people to Christ, encouraged believers in their walk with the Lord, and touched innumerable lives. His greatest desire was for others to know the hope and salvation found in Jesus Christ.
While Don faithfully served his country and his church, his greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, faithful pastor, and trusted friend whose kindness, wisdom, and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Don is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Tena Wahl; his sons, Mike (Kellie) Wahl and Sean (Cassie) Wahl; and his cherished grandchildren, Katelyn Wahl, Jacob Wahl, Garrett Wahl, and Christian Wahl. He also leaves behind church family, and dear friends who were blessed to know and love him.
Although his family deeply mourns his passing, they rejoice in God's promise of eternal life. They find peace in knowing that Don is now whole, healed, and rejoicing in Heaven with the Savior he faithfully served for more than four decades.
A Celebration of Life honoring Don's life and legacy will be communicated to close family and friends once service details have been finalized.
"Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord."Matthew 25:23
