Danny W. Outland, 79, of Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at Traditions in Lebanon. Born on October 29, 1946 to John and Doris (nee: Downey) Outland in Hopkinsville, KY. Danny graduated from Henderson County High School, in Henderson, Kentucky where he played football and baseball, and Western Kentucky University. He was a member of the 1959 Kentucky Little League All-Stars and was inducted with his team into the Henderson, Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame. He was also honored as a Kentucky Colonel. Danny worked for The Kroger Company, Conagra Foods, and Smithfield Foods, and following his retirement, he continued working with South Auction Services. He was a devoted member of Summit United Methodist Church. For 13 years, Danny brought joy to the Lebanon, Ohio community by portraying Santa Claus for the Lebanon Christmas Festival and Horse-Drawn Carriage Parade with his wife. His warmth and generosity will be remembered by all who knew him.
Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife, Sylvia (nee: Thompson) Outland, his daughter, Karyn (John) Woods, 2 step-sons, Russell (Raquel) Kaercher and Jeffrey (Andrea) Kaercher, his grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Olivia Woods, Jacob Kaercher, Elizabeth (Stephen) Kelly, Steven (Rachel) Williams, Karen (John) Noland, 4 great-grandchildren, Noah and Judah Kelly, Juanita Noland and Mila Williams, his cousin, Wallace Downey and his friend, Billie Jean Rardin. A special thank you to the staff of Traditions of Lebanon and Affinity Hospice for their wonderful care and support.
Visitation, Saturday, October 3, 2026 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM with a funeral at 12:00 PM, all at the Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon. Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery.
