Obituary

Danny Ray Baker, 63, of Lebanon, passed away on December 21, 2025, surrounded by his daughters. Born on January 5, 1962, he was a U.S. Army veteran and will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his abundance of home-grown vegetables, and his generous heart for everyone he encountered.

Growing up as part of a close-knit rural road in Lebanon, Danny enjoyed a childhood filled with hunting, camping, and exploring, often with his siblings, family and friends. Danny participated in boy scouts, loved the Peanuts gang, cheered on the Big Red Machine, and won an IGA sponsored trip to Disneyworld.

A proud 1980 graduate of Lebanon High School, he was known for field parties, getting an A+ in home economics, and silly adventures with his closest friends. He made lasting memories with friends and loved music from the Doobie Brothers, James Taylor, ZZ Top, and the Eagles.
Following his father who had served in the US Army in WWII, Danny served as a military police officer during the Cold War in Germany, forging lifelong friendships with his army buddies. After returning to Lebanon, he became a devoted father to his two daughters, Sarah and Erin, introducing them to nature and family traditions like camping and gardening. Before the term existed, Danny exemplified a "girl dad". He made his daughters' breakfast every morning, played Pretty Pretty Princess, and let them win in Mario Kart.

As a telecom laborer for ACI Technology for over 35 years, Danny worked alongside both family and his chosen family. Many viewed Danny as a father and brother whose wisdom and kindness is immeasurable. He was ready with a game, a snack, and a hug to little ones whenever they needed one.

Outside of work, he was passionate about hunting, gardening, and sharing meals with others, especially kids, veterans and the elderly. His generosity knew no bounds, and he always made sure to share his harvest, stories, and kindness. Like his mother, he always made sure folks were fed.

Danny's impact on others was anything but small. Whether he knew you for two minutes or for 60 years, he uncannily made a connection. His legacy of generosity, earnest independence, and joy of nature, will be carried on proudly by his children, family and friends.

Danny is survived by his daughters, Sarah (Eric) Baker and Erin Baker, two brothers, Michael (Anita) and Dennis (Tonya) Baker, sister Alice (Bobby) Baker, nieces, nephews, and many loving cousins and friends.
A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025 in Fellowship Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests the following:
Donations to help with final expenses and funeral. Any funds raised beyond will go toward Danny's celebration of life gathering, to be hosted in summer 2026. You can donate at Danny Baker Fundraiser

Pay it forward. Danny was known to pay for meals at restaurants, buying groceries for next in line, giving presents to his friend's children, and many other small gifts along the way. Give generously and spontaneously in his honor, as Danny would have.
