MILLER, Chelsea Lynn (nee: Ball), 39, of Lebanon, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 17, 2026. Born June 12, 1987, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the beloved daughter of Marcus Ball and Jacqueline Ball (nee: Lambert).
Growing up with a vibrant energy and an adventurous spirit, Chelsea loved horses from a young age and as a child was always asking for one of her own. She was deeply passionate about sports, starting early with tee ball, competing on a competitive team as a teenager, and playing basketball. Her natural drive and athletic skill led her to excel as both a player and a coach, eventually coaching at the state championship level.
After graduating from Lebanon High School in 2005, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Language Arts and Social Studies from Wright State University and continued on to complete her master’s degree in Special Education. Beyond the classroom, Chelsea had a passion for music, loved the beach, and was always up for an adventure. Whether she was boating on Lake Cumberland, kayaking, camping, hiking, or spending time outdoors, she embraced life with energy, enthusiasm, and a love for the open road.
As a graduate of Lebanon High School, Chelsea returned to her roots 14 years ago to dedicate her life to serving the students of her hometown. As an incredible teacher, mentor, and coach for both Girls Basketball and Softball, she poured her heart into the Lebanon school community. Chelsea loved being an educator, forming deep connections with her students—especially some of the most vulnerable at LJHS. She was a beacon of kindness, compassion, and encouragement, leaving an indelible mark on every young person fortunate enough to know her.
Above all, Chelsea’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished daughter, sister, and aunt who shared a particularly special bond with her nieces and nephews. Her unwavering love and vibrant spirit touched countless lives, and her memory will live on through the community she so fiercely loved and inspired.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Eathel and Millard Ball, and her maternal grandparents, Marilyn and Al Sexton.
Chelsea is survived by her devoted husband, Brian Miller; her precious daughter, Crosley Kay Miller; her parents, Marcus (Barbara) Ball and Jackie (Jeffery Stewart) Ball; maternal grandfather, Jim (Muriel) Lambert; three brothers, Tyler (India) Ball, Jacob (Kathia) Ball, and Kyle (Brittany) Scott; sister, Ashley (Mike) Hurley; and a large, loving family of nieces, nephews including Piper, Hensley, Scarlett, Nash, August and Max. Bonus Family: Meghan (Zack) Ferrell, Ryan (Heather) Stewart. Leila, Harrison, Raylan, Emma and Clayton. Many Aunts, uncles, and extended relatives.
A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 PM, with a memorial service immediately following at Lebanon District Event Center (Donovan Primary Center), 160 Miller Road, Lebanon, OH 45036. Reverend Alton Alexander and Reverend Josh Hauser will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to support Brian and Crosley as they navigate life without Chelsea. A GoFundMe account has been established to provide long-term support for her daughter, Crosley, and to ease the financial burden during the difficult days ahead.
Arrangements are under the care of Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon.
