Charlene Stricklin Norris

Charlene Stricklin Norris passed away peacefully and went home to Jesus at her residence at Ohio Living Quaker Heights on 6/25/2025.
She was born in the tiny coal mining town of Brilliant, Alabama. She was a war bride and married Marine Corp Tank Commander Lt. F. James Norris, Sr on 6/1/1952,shortly before his deployment to Korea. She and Jim were married for 65 years. They were long time residents of Lebanon, Ohio and raised their 4 children there.
She was an accomplished singer and pianist, often accompanying men's Gospel Quartets as a teenager. She was also in many church choirs as both a singer and pianist.
She graduated from Kettering College of Medical Arts, Kettering, Ohio in 1971, and continued practicing as an RN until she was 82 years old. Her long career included working at Kettering Hospital, Kettering, Ohio, Country Manor/Embassy in Lebanon, Ohio, and Ohio Living Quaker Heights in Waynesville, Ohio.
She enjoyed baking, sewing, reading, cross word puzzles, and her beloved Christmas Holiday time with family and snowy weather. She was a devout Christian, and made sure all of her children had piano lessons, learned Gospel music, and attended Sunday School, Church and Prayer Meeting every week.
She is survived by her children:
F. James Norris, Jr (Donna) , Dana Sheryl Norris, Rebecca Ruth Norris, Scott Daniel Norris (Teri)
Grandchildren: Robert Scott Pew, Samuel Lindsay Pew, Lyndsay Nicole James (Cameron), Jessica Faith Norris, William Oliver Toller
Great grandchildren: Emma Charlene Pew, Lillian Dana Pew, Fallon Lorraine James , Autumn Ruth James, Anson Norris James
She is joining in Heaven her husband, F James Norris, Sr, her parents, Jessie Lee Stricklin, Ollie Ruth Ballard Stricklin, her sister, Jewel Dean Estes and brother in law James Wyman Estes.
She belonged to the Gideons International and placed Gideon Bibles for many years with her husband. She asked that memorial donations to place Gideon Bibles be made to:

Following a private family service with officiant Pastor Joe Shutts, she will be interred at Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, Ohio.
