Andrew W.
Gunningham
Oct 15, 1950 — Aug 12, 2022
Andrew William Gunningham, 71, of Lebanon, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery after a brief illness. A beloved husband, father, son, nephew, cousin and friend, he was born on October 15, 1950 to Charles and Catherine (nee: Keir) Gunningham on Staten Island, NY. Andy was a proud US Navy veteran, having served 4 years in Virginia Beach, VA. He met his high school sweetheart; Liz (nee: Healy) Gunningham and later married her on July 20, 1974, having been together ever since. Andy and Liz just celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary this year. He worked at Proctor and Gamble as a machinist and retired in June of 1999. Together they built a life of love and happiness, moving the family from Staten Island to Lebanon in August 1991 with P&G. Andy enjoyed 23 years of retirement and especially riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles, fishing, archery, working in the garage with his machinery and going to the shooting range with his daughter and friends. Andy was happiest when he was home and finding projects to do around the house. He was a Mason and very active with the Dayton VA. Andy lived life to the fullest, always having a smile on his face, positive attitude, gave honest advice and always willing to lend a helping hand to a friend or even a stranger. Our hearts are broken that he was taken from us too soon and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Preceded in death by his parents, Catherine and Charles, his brother, Charles Gunningham and his sister, Frances Cinotti. He is survived by his loving wife, Liz Gunningham and his daughter, Kerri Gunningham of Staten Island, NY, along with cousins and many, many friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm with a memorial service at 4:00 pm all at the Oswald- Hoskins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donation may be sent to the Dayton VA.
