Alinda Lee
Wintersteen
Nov 11, 1948 — Aug 8, 2025
Alinda Lee (nee: Stidham) Wintersteen, age 76 of Morrow, peacefully passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025. Alinda was born in Grand Rapids Michigan on November 11, 1948, to William and Maurene (nee: Jones) Stidham. She was a devoted and loving mother to John (Jamie) Wintersteen, as well as a mother figure to her niece Erika (Tom) Elliott, 'Crazy' Grandma to Elizabeth Bunch, Zakerie and Kortland Edmondson, Cameron and Cora Elliott, and great-grandmother to Addiland and Anastazia Edmondson. Beloved sister to Sue (Chuck) Muchmore, Barbara (Danny) Urton, and William "Billy" Stidham, caring Aunt to Kimmie Speaks, Christina Cline, Brandon Urton and Chris Newman. Also survived by numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and many dear friends and other family. Alinda was preceded in death by her parents and two daughters, Kelly and Becca.
Alinda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved dogs, especially her chocolate labs Jake and Ben. In 1988, she graduated with a bachelor's degree in HR Management from Wilmington College. Despite her dreams of success in the HR field, her greatest desire was to be a mother. She opted instead to work in restaurant management in order to spend more time at home raising John. Not only did she play the role of mother to John, but she was also notorious for being everyone's second mom if not first. She was a woman of great intelligence balanced with unfettered love, care, and devotion to everyone and everything around her.
In December 2024 she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. True to form, this did not put her down for the count. She battled and kicked cancer's ass to the point where she was 100% cancer free when she passed.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, August 14, from 11:00 am-1:00 pm with a service immediately following at 1:00 pm, all at the Vale-Hoskins Funeral Home. If desired, donations may be sent to Cincinnati Animal Care, 3949 Colerain Ave, Cincinnati, OH, 45223. The family would like for everyone to wear Alinda's favorite color, purple, on the day of services.
