Dr. Alexander "Zan" Trott, 79, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on September 9, 2025. Born December 6, 1945, to David H. and Virginia Trott, he is survived by his wife, Jennifer Howell Trott; his children, Alexandra Trott, Jacqueline Trott Spires (Matthew Spires), Buffy Trott Hanschka, and Hays Trott Blinckmann; and his siblings, Stephen Trott and Sarah Trott de Seve.
A graduate of The Hill School, Denver University, and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (1972), Zan joined the University of Cincinnati's Department of Emergency Medicine, earned board certification in 1984, and practiced for 43 years, earning a reputation for calm, decisive care, deep compassion, and clinical excellence.

He was honored with the Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching (2017) and the title of Clinical Professor Emeritus (2018).
