JOHNSON, Abe William, 86, of Oxford, OH, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Bethesda North Hospital. Born February 26, 1937 in Jet's Creek, KY to Eldridge and Elvira (nee: Terry) Johnson, he was a graduate of Kings High School. Abe retired from Ford Motor Company in 1995 after 38 years of service. He was quoted as saying upon his retirement, "I'm going to train a few bird dogs, do some hunting, grow some food, and help the wife." And that is exactly what he did. He was a proud NRA member and grouse hunter. He loved his garden. And he loved to hunt. A member of the First Baptist Church in South Lebanon, Abe was also a devout Christian. He loved his Lord and loved to read the Bible.

Preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Homer, Joe, Donald, and Doug, he is survived by his wife of 66 years, Shirley (nee: Tarvin) Johnson, his sons, Jay William (Fern) Johnson of Morrow, his three daughters, Belinda (Lisa DuPriest) Johnson of Symmes Township, Judy Ann (Jim Baker) Johnson of Waynesville, OH, and Brenda Abney  of Fairfield Township, OH, one sister, Faye (Mike Kilburn) Powell-Kilburn of Maineville, seven grandchildren, Chris Cornett, Tory Sullivan, Tara (Chris Strange) Sullivan, Amy (Jimmy) Coomer-Johnson, Stephen Johnson, Ben (Nikki) Brewer, and Tyler (Lorena) Baker, three great grandchildren, Asher DuPriest Brewer, Caleb Johnson, and Chase Coomer and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation, Friday, July 7, 2023 from 10 AM until 12 Noon with a funeral service immediately following, all at the Oswald Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon. Reverend Jeremiah Camarata officiating. Interment follows in Rose Hill Cemetery in Mason, OH. Memorials requested to First Baptist Church in South Lebanon.
