BUCHANAN, John Simpson, 91, of Lebanon, died Saturday June 2, 2012. Born October 12, 1920 in Tiltonsville, OH to George and Ella (nee: Simpson) Buchanan, he was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church for over 60 years. He was also a member of the Lebanon Masonic Lodge #26, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, the Antioch Shriners, and was Past Patron for the Order of the Eastern Star # 343. He was a retired member and past president of the Lebanon Rotary, served as President for the Lebanon School Board and was recently elected to the Lebanon High School Hall of Fame. He founded the Buchanan Dairy Supply in 1947, which later became the Buchanan Power Equipment Company. He retired in 1985. Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, three sisters, and two sons in law, Ronald Campbell and Richard Gomez, survivors include his wife of 68 years, Lois (nee: Boyd) Buchanan, two sons, Larry (Char) Buchanan of Lebanon and John (JoAnne) Buchanan of Lebanon, two daughters, Nancy Campbell of Lebanon and Mary Ellen Gomez of Morrow, seven grandchildren, Gary (Anita), Ronald, and Brett Campbell, Matthew (Rachel) , Dr. David (Shannon) and Lindsay Buchanan, and Angie (Tim) Guilfoyle, and six great grandchildren, Christine and Bethany Campbell, Crighton, Paisley, and Hayley Buchanan, and Peyton Guilfoyle. Visitation will be Wednesday June 6, 2012 from 11 AM till 2 PM with funeral service immediately following, all at the Lebanon United Methodist Church. Reverend Dillon Staas officiating.
