John Robert Hayslip, 75, of Lebanon since 1960, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Kindred Hospital, Dayton. Born in Clarksville on August 16, 1936 to Oscar & Mildred (nee: Price) Hayslip, he was lovingly raised by a very special aunt & uncle, Peg & Bob DeJarnette, after losing both his parents at a very young age. A graduate of Middletown High School, he retired from Blackhawk in 2006 and never missed a day of work in his 19 years of service to them.
Preceded by one brother, James Hayslip, survivors include his loving wife of nearly 52 years, Betty (nee: Lake) Hayslip, one daughter, Shelly Sechrist, and two grandchildren, Christy Alexander (Philip) and Jenna Sechrist, all of Lebanon. Also surviving is one brother, Joe Hayslip of West Virginia, one sister, Janet Hanson of Tennessee, and a special cousin, Sandy DeJarnette Parish of Miamisburg.
Visitation Monday, May 7th, 12:00 Noon – 1:00 PM, with the funeral immediately following, all at Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon. Interment to follow in Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
