Edith (nee: Barger) Phillips, 83, of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Atrium Medical Center. Born in Perry County, KY on November 22, 1928, she moved to the Lebanon area 65 years ago and retired from Dow Chemical in 1990 after 20 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing. Edith loved being outdoors, particularly rafting and canoeing. She also enjoyed helping her neighbors at Bentley Woods.
Preceded in death by her son, Gary, survivors include two sons, Aaron D. Coomer (Terri) and Randall D. Coomer, both of Lebanon, four brothers, Herbert Hoover Barger (Maxine), Milford Barger, Roland K. Barger (Janet) and Arlo Barger, all of Hamilton. Also surviving are two grandsons, Joshua A. Coomer (Kassie) of San Diego, CA and Galen G. Coomer (Amanda) of Franklin, two step grandsons, Adam and Alex Kovacs of Lebanon, and two great grandsons, Gavin and Waylon Coomer.
The visitation will be Thursday, April 19th, 10-11:00 AM, with the service immediately following, all at the Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon. Interment will follow in Deerfield Cemetery, South Lebanon. Memorial donations are requested to the American Lung Association or Hospice of Cincinnati.
