Jeanne Rinal

Jeanne Rinal, 87, of Otterbein-Lebanon Senior Lifestyle Community, died Friday, March 16, 2012. Born Doris Jeanne McVicker on April 12, 1924, her parents were Opal (nee: Trew) and Luther McVicker of Darrtown, OH. She preferred to be called Jeanne and attended grade school in Darrtown with her sister Mary and brother Don. Later, she graduated from McGuffy High School in Oxford, OH and received a Bachelor’s in Education and Master’s in Guidance & Counseling from Miami University. In 1944, Jeanne married Richard Warren Rinal. Jeanne & Dick lived in Waukeegan, IL and Hamilton, OH. They had three children, Sharon Francis (David) of Lebanon, OH, Sally Johnson (Kim) of Isle, MN, and Jon Rinal (Gail) of Camden, OH. They were blessed with 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Also surviving are brother-in-law, Larry Simison of Hamilton, OH, and nieces, Nancy Walterman and Peggy Arcari. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, sister and infant son, Richard. Jeanne enjoyed a long teaching career. She taught business and cooperative ed at Hamilton High and Taft High Schools in Hamilton, OH from 1958-1986. She also served the schools as a guidance counselor. Jeanne was a member of Delta Kappa Gama, Ohio Retired Teachers, The Priscilla Club of Darrtown and Grace United Methodist Church in Hamilton. Her hobbies included sewing and ballroom dancing. She was diligent in her bookkeeping, both at work and home. Jeanne will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 21st, 10-11:00 AM, with the funeral service immediately following, all at the Otterbein-Lebanon Chapel. A graveside committal service will take place Wednesday, March 21st, 2:00 PM, at the Darrtown Cemetery. Memorial donations are requested to either Crossroads Hospice or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.
